About the Instructor

Even though our programs are designed specifically for high school and junior high school students, children as young as six years old can still get something out of our programs. Let’s say you’ve had your six-year-old sitting at a table or desk doing schoolwork and they’ve been sitting there for a little over an hour. After an hour this six year old is fidgeting in their chair, they are having trouble concentrating and it’s very difficult for you to teach them. Now why on earth would a six year old fidget from doing schoolwork for over an hour? Because they are six and this is very normal!

If you have another half hour of work you want your six year old to do, you can either fight with their attention span or take a break and do a PE class for a little while. Maybe they can go do PE with their brother or sister. Maybe you want to do a PE work out with them. Or maybe you just want to have them do the program on their own and you walk them through it. Any of these options allows your student to get all their energy out and basically run around. Since our workouts are designed to be any where from 45 minutes up to an hour and a half you obviously wouldn’t have your six year old do the work out for an hour and a half. Have them do as much as they can. If they only do the program for 20 minutes great. If they spend more or less time on it, it’s totally up to you and how long you want them to do it. The same is true with junior high and high school students. Some students may get worn out in 40 minutes. If this is the case, then that’s fantastic. So what if the student didn’t do the entire workout... did they get worn out? If the answer is “yes” then that means we did our job of giving them a great workout! Maybe in their next workout the student will be able to go a little longer. But really all that’s important is that the student is getting a great workout and enjoying it at the same time.

Getting back to the subject of our six year old, when they are finished with the work out, guess what? They are now tired and actually want to sit down. Parents this is one of the most glorious things you’ll ever witness in your life time... your six year old actually wanting to sit down! Now have them focus on that last half hour of school work and it should go by much quicker and they should understand things better. Getting all their energy out will heighten their attention.

Also by having your six year old build their athleticism and increase their balance, agility, speed, foot work, hand-to-eye coordination, flexibility, fluidity, strength, stamina, and cardio they will begin to trust their bodies abilities more. This in turn will help increase and build their confidence, teach respect and discipline.

Obviously the junior high and high school students will get more out of our programs but again this doesn’t mean that a six or seven year old can’t get something out of our programs.
