Dancing can be a phenomenal work out as well as a fantastic way to build and teach athleticism. This is not a couples dance program. Dance can be an absolutely beautiful art form that teaches how the body moves. Learning these movements helps build athleticism that help the student prepare for future sporting or physical activities.
Every day we will begin by doing a warm up and then doing some footwork, agility, balance, and coordination drills. The coordination drills are intended to teach the student how to start using their arms in differing directions. The more advanced stages of these drills teach the student how to have the arms and legs do different things at the same time. We will also do some strengthening drills focusing on abs, legs, or arms. After we finish the Movement part of our work out, well get into the Dance element of it.
In this first program we will be focusing salsa dancing. We will put the music on and teach you the footwork on how to move to this music. Again this program teaches you to salsa dance individually and not with a partner, but that doesnt mean you cant do this program with friends of family. Maybe a mother and daughter want to try this program out together. This program is a great way to burn calories, increase athleticism, build confidence, and have a blast doing it!
